Our Vision
Our Mission
Education is a basic cornerstone of sustainable development. That particular idea is why we place special importance on the improvement of educational conditions and opportunities. Every human being should have the right, privilege, and opportunity to get the best education possible.
What We Do
Our Humble Beginning
Our Virtual Interactive Classroom:
With the increase in virtual and remote learning options, Virtual Instructor-Led Classroom(vILC) is quickly becoming a key component of any successful training strategy.
Accessible Learning:
A virtual classroom allows participants to communicate with one another, view presentations or videos, interact with other participants, and engage with resources in work groups. It enables both learners and instructors around the world to participate in live classes to collaborate and interact
The concept of Equal Education to provide quality class lessons to all children started back in summer of 2018. Thao-Nguyen (co-founder) Tran family made their trip to Vietnam. They traveled to various regions of Vietnam, and witnessed the huge gap of disparity in social class status.
The greatest inequality gap was amongst the children’s lack of educational opportunity. Sadly, only rich privileged kids can afford quality schooling. Moreover, private tutoring is only exclusive to the elite family.
Therefore, majority of poor children are illiterate, particularly in rural areas. Ironically, internet technology is available throughout the countryside. The ideas of leveraging “Virtual Instructor-Led Classroom” (vILC) is born; utilizing the internet technology to provide virtual classroom teaching. The ability to reach out to any kids remotely is exciting. Equal Education is established, and demand for teaching immediately exploded.
Today, Equal Education is dedicated and focused on fully utilizing the internet to reach out to kids in remotest regions of Vietnam. Our ultimate goal is to apply same concept to other countries throughout the world.
Flexible Learning:
Online classes also allow for the ability to record class as it happens, including any presentation audio and visuals. This means that the content is accessible even after being delivered, an added benefit for those who want a quick refresher, or perhaps did not fully understand the first time.
Co-Founder: An Nguyen
An Nguyen is a 19-year-old college first-year majoring in Economics at the Georgia Institute of Technology and one of the three founders of Equal Education, a nonprofit organization aiming to make education more accessible to more people.
In ninth grade, An started volunteering as a teacher assistant for Vietnamese education at Our Lady of Vietnam Catholic Church. About six months later, she also started volunteering as a social and academic mentor with Fayetteville Elementary School’s After School Program. In twelfth grade, An was invited to join the mentoring program’s advisory board, on which she served for the rest of the school year. An started privately tutoring in her tenth grade year in mainly math, but being a native Vietnamese speaker who attended weekly Vietnamese lessons for eight years and a fluent Spanish speaker who has taken three years of high school Spanish, An also has a great deal of experience in teaching language.
An believes that education is the key to not only individual achievement but also societal progression.

Co-Founder: Maryann Vu
Hello! My name is Thao-Nguyen Tran, and I am one of the co-founders of Equal Education. I have always had a passion for helping others, and throughout the years I have picked up experience along the way. I am involved in multiple community service clubs such as Interact club and National Honor Society. At St. Joseph Education Center, I was an office assistant and currently a Teacher Assistant. I really enjoy being a teacher assistant for my classes because it allows me to connect to and help my students.
I’m so blessed to be fluent in both English and Vietnamese (also currently learning Spanish). Therefore, I am grateful to have the chance to give back to the community.
My upbringing in Catholic faith also teaches me to be loving and compassionate toward everyone. Most importantly, be an activist with a voice to defend and speak up for our less fortunate human being. That is one of the main reasons why I’m so passionate about establishing this nonprofit organization Equal Education.
Hi! My name is Maryann Tuyet-Nhu Vu. My first experience of helping others with their writing started in 2015, where I became a staff member for the Voyager Writing and Communications Center in which I attended lessons at UW Bothell on how to tutor others. Other than that, I have been awarded Student of the Year, MS Math Champion, and am a certified BLS provider. I am very dedicated in my leadership role at school and have served as ASB Vice President since 7th grade. As of now, I am the Junior Class Vice President for MHS. Along with that, I am also an active member of NHS, NSHSS, and Key Club. I’ve been playing piano for 6 years and practice ballet as well.
I am so very excited to see Equal Education come to life! I have a passion for helping people and I am so grateful that I am able to give back to the community who has shaped me into the person that I am now. I love the idea of helping others find a way to put themselves out there, no matter what their situation or status is. In my life, I only wish to be able to help others and make a difference in this world. I am currently studying towards the Medicine field and hope that I can help people through that.
